Drugs seized in Qld bikie crackdown

The Queensland government's continued crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gangs has led to police arresting 11 bikies from five different gangs at the weekend.

Alleged members and associates of the Mongols, Bandidos, Odins Warriors, Rebels and Hells Angels were charged as a result of street checks, vehicle intercepts and the execution of two search warrants.

About $70,000 worth of the drug ICE, cannabis, four replica handguns, a crossbow and flick knives were among the items seized by police.

Three of the 11 men - netted across Chinchilla, Beerwah, Brisbane and the Gold Coast - are expected to front court on Monday.

In total, the alleged bikies have been charged with 21 offences including possession of dangerous drugs, weapons including restricted items and a dangerous article.

"The results of these police actions, in terms of the drugs and weaponry located and seized from criminal motorcycle gangs, demonstrate the continuing threat these crime gangs pose to our community," Acting Detective Inspector David Cove said.

He said targeting and thwarting such gang activity in Queensland would be an ongoing priority for the specialist police taskforces, traffic officers, general duties officers and regional criminal investigation branches in 2015.
