Driver rams home, murders man

A man accused of driving his car through the wall of a Queensland home before stabbing one of its occupants to death knew the people inside.

The man has been charged with murdering a 50-year-old male resident, and trying to murder four other people who were at the Delaneys Creek home, northwest of Caboolture, on Monday night.

He's also accused of attempted arson and breaching a domestic violence order.

Police have not confirmed suggestions that three of the four who escaped unharmed were children, but they are describing the incident as "domestic-related".

"All persons from this address are known to each other," Senior Sergeant Tony Green told reporters on Tuesday morning.

He said the accused man, also aged 50, was at the scene when officers arrived and found the body of the victim.

The vehicle had been driven through a wall so that it was almost entirely inside the home.

"When police arrived at the scene he was helpful with the police inquiries," Sgt Green said.

"Detectives later spoke to him. He continued to assist us with our inquiries and as a result ... he's been charged with a number of offences including murder."

The accused is due to front the Caboolture Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with one count of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and one each of enter dwelling with intent, contravention of a domestic violence order, driving whilst disqualified, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and attempted arson.
