Drive slow in back to school race: police

Queensland drivers are being reminded to slow down in school zones from next week as students across the state return to classes.

Police Minister Mark Ryan said police would be out in force from Monday targeting drivers and riders not obeying the reduced speed limit during marked drop-off and pick-up times.

Last year more than 27,600 speeding tickets were issued by police to those driving too fast in school zones.
