Drive-by handbag thieves snatched by cops

Two men have been charged with robbing a 79-year-old woman in a brazen drive-by purse-snatch on the Gold Coast.

Police say the 17-year-old and 20-year-old men drove past the elderly woman at Carrara on Sunday afternoon, with one of them leaning out of a window to drag the woman's handbag from her shoulder.

The men will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday on a number of charges related to the drive-by snatch as well as other robberies committed on the Gold Coast.
