Dog bites Qld man after night of violence

A man has been bitten by a police dog that tracked him into bushland following a night of violence north of Brisbane.

It's alleged the 25-year-old attacked a woman, 22, and a man, 36, who tried to help her during a domestic incident at Burpengary on Saturday night.

The man fled but returned a short time later with two other men, and the pair were attacked again, taking punches to the head and face.

The trio, all from Deception Bay, took off but a police dog tracked down the main suspect.

"The man, who was hiding in the dark in dense bush, was bitten by the police dog when the man allegedly grabbed the dog around the neck and throat," police said.

The other two alleged offenders were arrested some time later.

The 25-year-old is accused of breaching a domestic violence order and has been charged with three counts of assault.

His co-accused, aged 23 and 38, have been charged with assault.

The two victims suffered bruising and swelling in the attacks.
