Divers search for Qld woman's remains

Police divers will search a creek for signs of a central Queensland woman who's been missing for more than year.

The creek runs through a Rockhampton property where the skull of missing man Robert Martinez was found last month.

The handbag of Chantal Barnett, 27, who was last seen with 26-year-old Mr Martinez in March 2013, was also found on the property.

Police say the two were murdered and have offered a $250,000 reward for information that helps solve the case.

Senior Sergeant Scott Moon says divers will on Monday scour a creek that runs through the property.

"It's quite an arduous task for them," he told reporters.

"It's had a lot of water go through there at times, so they'll be on their hands and knees and feeling their way through the water, looking for any evidence that we may identify that can assist us with bringing Chantal home to her family."

Mr Martinez's car and wallet were found on the same property last year.

Detectives have taken more than 400 statements throughout the investigation.

They said last month that they believe they know who is responsible for the couple's deaths.
