Cyclone Marcia report delayed

The release of a report into the impact of flooding from Cyclone Marcia on regional Queensland has been delayed for two weeks.

The review, headed by Emergency Management Inspector-General Iain MacKenzie, is examining what happened before Callide Creek broke its banks in February, prompting evacuations as the category five system swept across the state.

Many residents were worried about the lack of warning before the evacuation orders were given and believe Callide Dam was mismanaged.

The terms of reference of the investigation give it scope to scrutinise the actions of the dam operator Sunwater, which has denied wrongdoing.

A report was to be handed to Emergency Services Minister Jo-Ann Miller by Friday, but the date has been postponed for a fortnight.

"I am committed to ensuring that procedural fairness is afforded to those entities and individuals who may be impacted by findings of the review," Ms Miller said of the delay.

The report is now due to be handed to the minister on June 5.
