Cyclist dies after collision on Gold Coast

An elderly cyclist has died after colliding with a car on a northern Gold Coast road on Tuesday.

The 75-year-old was travelling along Hope Island Road at approximately 9.15am when his bike collided with the rear of a parked and unoccupied car.

The police forensic crash unit is investigating the circumstances that led to the accident with the man dying at the scene despite resuscitation attempts by paramedics.
