Cops hunt Gold Coast trio after assault

Police are hunting two men and a woman after a man was seriously assaulted in a vicious early morning attack on the Gold Coast.

The 38-year-old victim was sitting on a patio with a friend in Molendinar when the trio approached him just before 4am on Thursday.

The two men then punched him to the ground, leaving the man with fractures to his ribs, jaw and eye sockets, before they and the woman fled the scene.
