Charges dropped against Qld car attacker

A Queensland woman accused of trying to mow down the father of her child as he walked with another woman has had two counts of attempted murder dropped.

Melissa Anne Davis sped in her car towards the pair in the northern Brisbane suburb of Zillmere in April 2017, a few months after her relationship with the man ended.

No one was injured in the incident.

Davis pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a vehicle on Friday after the Brisbane Supreme Court heard the more serious charges were no longer being pursued by prosecutors.

She walked free from court after being granted bail ahead of her sentencing for the driving offence at a later date.
