Central Queensland hit with a month's worth of rain in just one day
Parts of Central Queensland have been hit with more than a month's rain in just 24 hours, while more wet and cold weather is on the horizon.
A low-pressure trough is hanging over Queensland, drawing in moisture-rich air from the coral sea, according to Weatherzone.
The resulting rainfall has dumped 30 to 60 mm of water between Mackay and Townsville.

A weather observation station at Mackay Airport recorded 59.8 mm of water In the 24 hours to 9am today.
Mackay's long-term average rainfall for June is 59.5mm, meaning that the city had passed its usual monthly rainfall in just a day.
The last 24 hours have also been Mackay's wettest June day in 21 years.
The trough is expected to hang around, bringing more widespread cloud and rain over central Queensland today and tomorrow.
Some showers are also expected for the state's north and south-east.
Meteorologists from Weatherzone predict the rain will begin to ease by Friday, though showers may linger over some parts of the state.
There are also signs that another rainband could develop over southern Queensland early next week.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that thunderstorms could develop in northern, central and inland southern Queensland today.
They are not expected to be severe, but could bring small amounts of hail.
