Central Qld fugitive jailed for 27 months

The sex offender who escaped from Rockhampton District Court moments after being convicted in September has been jailed for 27 months.
The 33-year-old man forced his way out of the dock after being found guilty of sex offences on September 29.
The court was placed into lockdown, but he managed to wedge himself through the automatic doors at the front of the building.

He was at large for about six weeks before surrendering to police on November 15.
He has been sentenced to 15 months for the two sex offences, and 12 months for his escape.
