Lucky escape as car rolls off ocean cliff

A teenager had a lucky escape when the car he was driving rolled off a cliff and plunged into the ocean after crashing on a highway in far north Queensland.

He was able to get out of the car before it went over the drop but suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mossman Hospital in a stable condition.

The crash happened on the Captain Cook Highway at Mowbray, south of Port Douglas, around 7am on Tuesday.
