Driver dies after car crushed underneath truck in horrific crash at Peak Crossing in Queensland

A driver has died after his car was crushed underneath a truck in a horrific crash at Peak Crossing south of Ipswich.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the crash occurred at the intersection of Middle Road and Churchbank Weir Road at 5.30am this morning.

The truck, with two people inside, was following behind the car, with one occupant, when the crash took place.

The two men in the truck were uninjured but the driver of the car died.

It is believed the men were all known to each other and were headed to a scaffolding job.

The intersection has been closed as police investigate.
