Campaigners on horseback ignore red light

There's no stopping the Australian Liberty Alliance on its election campaign after two horses, promoting the right wing party, were ridden through a red light in Brisbane's CBD.

The hired-helpers were riding along George Street, carrying Australian flags and wearing hi-viz vests, when they trotted through the red light as they approached Adelaide Street at 12.50pm.

They continued through the intersection, holding up cars and pedestrians trying to cross George Street with one on-looker saying, "that's a red light, mate".

ALA leader Bernard Gaynor told AAP that he was unaware that the riders had taken the horses through a red light.

"I'm not commenting about what they may or may not have done," Gaynor said.

"Like any advertising organisation, they're doing a job to advertise the Australian Liberty Alliance today."
