Cairns woman stabbed over broom dispute

A Cairns woman has been stabbed in the back and shoulder allegedly during a fight with a neighbour over a broom.

The 45-year-old was retrieving a broom she had lent a neighbour on Saturday night when she was stabbed multiple times and taken to hospital.

A 20-year-old woman is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday charged with committing an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
