Cabbie stabbed in the hand in Qld attack

A taxi driver has been repeatedly stabbed in the hand while trying to fend off a passenger who was attempting to steal his backpack in regional Queensland.
The driver picked up a man and a woman outside a bar in Toowoomba on Thursday night.
The man then produced a knife, demanded cash and repeatedly stabbed the driver's hand when the he tried to stop his backpack from being stolen. The pair remain on the run.
