Business partner charged with 1997 killing

The business partner of a Gold Coast man killed in an execution-style shooting 20 years ago has faced a Queensland court charged with murder.

Neil Pentland, 68, has been remanded in custody after a brief appearance in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday where he was charged with murdering his business partner Philip Carlyle in 1997.

Another man, 66, will face the same court on Wednesday charged with being an accessory after the fact, while a 69-year-old woman has been charged with making a false or misleading statement and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 11.
