The brother of a central Queensland girl who went missing 44 years ago has issued a new public appeal to help solve the long cold case.
Marilyn Wallman, 14, was last seen in Mackay on March 21, 1972 after leaving home to cycle to school.
On the anniversary of her disappearance on Monday, her brother Rex joined police asking for information about an old Holden seen near Mirani, where a piece of Marilyn's skull was found in 1974.

"Marilyn is never far from our thoughts and daily routine whether it's March 21 or any other day," he told reporters.
"The most important thing is the information that we get from the community."
