Brisbane locals foil armed robbery

Eagle-eyed locals have tackled an armed man who was allegedly trying to rob a pharmacy in Brisbane's west.

The man entered the Kedron store about midday and threatened a 27-year-old male employee with a knife, demanding cash.

However, he ran away empty-handed when he noticed a member of the public watching him.

The man watching gave chase and was joined by two other men, bringing the alleged offender to the ground at a nearby school, before police arrived.

A 29-year-old Lawnton man has been refused bail and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
