Brisbane bus strike for Friday peak hour

Brisbane's disgruntled city council bus drivers will ramp up industrial action against their employers by striking for four hours on Friday afternoon.

The bus drivers stopped work for two hours each early Tuesday and Wednesday morning last week but more commuter problems would be expected with their Friday peak hour strike from 2pm to 6pm.

The Rail Tram and Bus Union - which is negotiating for safer buses, a wage increase and a new roster - also says drivers will refuse to collect fares throughout Thursday.
