Boy charged over laser attack

A teenage boy has been charged after a laser was beamed at a police helicopter as it was flying over the town of Beenliegh in Queensland's southeast.

Police say the helicopter crew noticed the laser being shone at them from outside a home in the Waterford area at about 7pm on Saturday.

Police visited the address where a teenage boy was spoken to.

He has been charged with an offence committed under the Civil Aviation Act and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
