Mild-mannered Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has been asked what she has against men who dance after labelling political rival Jarrod Bleijie a "dancing queen".

Opposition frontbencher Mr Bleijie, an avid ballroom dancer, was forced to brush off the jibe from the premier in parliament on Thursday.

While the premier was talking about the upcoming Marvel exhibition at GOMA in Brisbane, Mr Bleijie shouted at her "you're no Wonder Woman!"

Putting aside that Wonder Woman is published by DC, not Marvel, Ms Palaszczuk fired back "at least I'm not a dancing queen!"

Mr Bleijie's love of ballroom dancing is well known in state parliament.

The shadow employment minister looked briefly like he might emulate Marvel superhero The Hulk following the comment, but later played down the sledge.

"I'm a proud dancer, and I've got to say, what has the arts minister (Ms Palaszczuk) in this state of Queensland got against men that dance?" he asked.
