A growing southeast Queensland urban hub will have its roads, water and sewerage facilities secured under a new $1.2 billion agreement between the Queensland Government, Logan City Council and nine property developers.

Minister for State Development Cameron Dick said the deal was the largest of its type in Australia, and would deliver essential infrastructure to the priority development areas of Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone, which are expected to have around 200,000 residents by 2066.

"Some 170 kilometres of council roads will be upgraded through these developer contributions and over the next six years alone, the agreement will see up to $400 million in infrastructure investment, which will support more than 130 construction jobs each year."
