Bikie accused of Qld jail plot denied bail

A Sydney-based bikie accused of trafficking the drug ice into a Queensland prison has been denied bail in a Brisbane court.

It's alleged more than 100 grams of methylamphetamine seized during a targeted raid in Maryborough, north of Brisbane, last August came from Lone Wolf bikie Ronnie "Salami" Refalo.

The raid occurred after police allegedly intercepted phone calls between Refalo, 46, and Maryborough Correctional Centre inmate, 54-year-old Brett Randall Griffith.

The pair were allegedly organising drugs to be taken into the prison to be sold on to other inmates.

Justice Peter Flanagan denied Refalo's bail application in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, citing his extensive and relevant criminal history.

During the time of the alleged offence, Refalo had been on parole after being sentenced for supplying drugs to NSW prisons.

"In those circumstances it is difficult to accept that the applicant, if granted bail, would not reoffend," Justice Flanagan said.

"That would show, in my view, a flagrant disregard for parole conditions."

Crown prosecutor Sarah Farndon told the court Refalo had either been in prison or committing offences while on parole continuously since 1989.

Lawyer Andrew Bale, for Refalo, argued the crown case was weak because it did not have evidence of an ongoing trafficking operation.

"Certainly there is some drug chatter, certainly there is some suspicious behaviour," Mr Bale said.

"But it is an awful long way from being reasonable doubt as to what it actually is, where it is going and what happens to it."

Refalo wasn't present in court.
