BODIES TAKEN FROM WHITE ISLAND:

* Six bodies were removed from White Island on Friday, two remain.

* Australia's foreign minister expects all six to be identified as Australians, but NZ police say that's premature

* NZ police have previously named the Australians on the island as:

- Brisbane woman Julie Richards, 47, and her daughter Jessica, 20

- Melbourne woman Krystal Browitt, 21

- Coffs Harbour couple Richard Elzer and Karla Matthews, both 32

- Adelaide schoolgirl Zoe Hosking, 15

OTHER DEATHS:

* Sydney high school students and brothers Berend, 16, and Matthew Hollander, 13.

* Adelaide man Gavin Dallow, 53, stepfather of Zoe Hosking

* Coffs Harbour man Jason Griffiths; friend of Richard Elzer and Karla Matthews

MISSING:

- Sydney couple Martin and Barbara Hollander, parents of Berend and Matthew

- Sydney couple Anthony and Kristine Langford, and daughter Winona, 17. The couple's son Jesse, 19, survived family have indicated

WHAT DFAT SAYS:

* 24 Australian citizens and four permanent Australian residents were caught in the eruption

* DFAT lists 14 as dead, presumed dead or missing

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS:

* 11 confirmed dead, or presumed dead or missing

* 11 survivors transferred home to Australian hospitals

* One further survivor expected to be brought home within 24 hours
