Attempted murder charge after stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed several times in the Brisbane coastal suburb of Redcliffe.

Police allege the 51-year-old man stabbed the 43-year-old woman in the upper body just before noon on Sunday at a Sutton Beach address.

The woman was taken to the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man was also injured and was taken to the Redcliffe Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening stab wounds.

He is to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
