Million-dollar aqua park coming to Brisbane

Brisbane's kids will be aching for summer to come back around quickly, with a million-dollar water park on the way in the city's north.

The Keperra Picnic Grounds are set for a $1.5 million makeover that will offer a new aqua playground.

Construction is set to start in July, with the pools ready for the onset of warmer weather in spring.

A similar set-up is coming to Corparoo as well.

Meanwhile, Ipswich is getting an all-round higher-order redesign.

Ground has been broken on the $150 million Ipswich Central, which will cater for shopping, dinner and major events.

It is the biggest transformation of the city in three decades.
