Alleged Qld father stabber granted bail

A man accused of stabbing his elderly father numerous times in far north Queensland has been given bail.

The 43-year-old was arrested after police found his 74-year-old father with extensive wounds, including to the top of his torso and head, in a Gordonvale home on Thursday afternoon.

Police opposed the bail in the Cairns Magistrate Court but it was granted on the condition that he not drink alcohol or have contact with his father.
