Alleged motorbike thief injured in crash

An alleged motorbike thief has suffered serious injuries after crashing the bike into a taxi in north Queensland.
Police say the 33-year-old Brisbane man was fleeing from them when he collided with the taxi at a Cairns intersection on Thursday afternoon.
The taxi driver escaped serious injury, but the motorbike rider was taken to Cairns Base Hospital.
