Alleged drunk and drugged drivers charged

A man who was allegedly on drugs when he hit and killed a woman while driving a truck on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has been charged.

The 39-year-old was allegedly smashed by the truck as she exited her car and died at the scene of the crash at Coolum Beach on July 27.

Police have charged a 39-year-old man with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and driving while a relevant drug is present.

Meanwhile, charges have been laid against an allegedly drunk driver, aged 36, whose 21-year-old male passenger died after the car crashed into a tree at Ilkley, west of Mooloolaba, on June 1.

Both men are due to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 21.
