A popular Airlie Beach pub has ben fined $42,500 for deliberately disabling their fire alarms.

Magnum's Hotel at the Queensland tourist hotspot plead guilty to 17 charges of failing to maintain their fire safety installation.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Commissioner Katarina Carroll said the fines sent a message to any businesses that were deliberately sacrificing the safety of their patrons.
