Accused Qld bikie boss faces court

An alleged former Bandidos boss charged with extortion and assault will face a Gold Coast court next month.

Brett Pechey, the alleged former president of the motorcycle gang's West End chapter, did not apply for bail during a brief appearance in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court on March 6.

Pechey has been charged with 10 counts of extortion, two counts of threatening violence, stalking and assault occasioning bodily harm in company.

He has also been charged with one count of affray.

The 28-year-old voluntarily handed himself in to police on Wednesday after flying into Brisbane from Thailand, where he has lived for more than a year.

Pechey left the country after a violent brawl at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast in 2013, which sparked legislation for Queensland's hard-line anti-bikie laws.

He appeared in the District Court on Thursday where he did not enter a plea.
