Accused baby killer appears in Qld court

A man has appeared in a Brisbane court, charged with murdering a five-month-old boy on the city's bayside.

Kozan Samual Thomas Ware, 32, from Woodridge, south of Brisbane, appeared briefly in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He is accused of murdering the baby who died at a Russell St home in Cleveland after being found unresponsive on the morning of March 28 last year.

Ware and the child were known to each other and they have the same last name.

His death sparked a joint investigation by two police child protection units before Ware was arrested and charged on Monday.

Ware was not allowed to apply for bail on Tuesday and the case was listed to return to court for committal on July 2.
