Qld woman charged over train lines push

A young woman allegedly pushed a stranger onto railway lines on the Gold Coast, leaving it to bystanders to pull him from the path of oncoming trains.

Police say the woman and another man argued with the 52-year-old at the Nerang railway station before pushing him onto the rails where he blacked out.

He suffered head and back injuries and had to be lifted off the tracks by several witnesses.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Loganlea woman, 22, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and obstructing police after the incident on Sunday night.

She is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

A man, 30, also from Loganlea, is due to appear in the same court on June 23 when he is expected to be charged with possessing a knife in a public place.
