Queenslanders are being urged to spin a coloured recipe wheel as part of a revamped campaign to get them to eat a variety of different fruit and vegetables.

The wheel features in the Labor government's updated version of the healthy eating Go for 2&5 campaign, which it ran while in power from 2006 to 2009.

"Our new campaign doesn't just focus on eating two serves of fruit and five serves of vegetables each day. We want Queenslanders to add colour to their plate," Health Minister Cameron Dick said on Sunday.

In Queensland, only nine per cent of adults and six per cent of children eat the recommended vegetables intake daily, while about half of adults and a third of children also need to eat more fruit.
