A female teacher from Queensland has been banned from contacting a student with whom she is accused of having a sexual relationship.

The 26-year-old was granted bail in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

She has been charged with five counts of carnal knowledge of a child under 16 and five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.

The allegations reportedly relate to an alleged relationship with a 15-year-old male student.

The court heard she has been suspended from teaching at the bayside school, southeast of Brisbane, since August.

Police did not oppose bail and Magistrate Christine Roney granted it on condition the teacher not contact the student or any education staff at the school.

She has also been banned from taking up any contact teaching roles and must report to police once a week.

The case was adjourned until February 24.
