Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is getting ready to announce when parliament will resume for the first time this year.

Parliament hasn't convened since Labor's shock election victory last month, but Ms Palaszczuk says she will meet Governor Paul de Jersey on Wednesday to discuss dates for sitting.

"I don't want to let the cat out of the bag there but I'll have discussions with him," she told ABC Radio.

"I'll be letting Queenslanders know by the end of the week when parliament will be recalled."

Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg said the Liberal National Party was ready to hold the new government to account.

Mr Springborg said he was keen to question Ms Palaszczuk on her plan to freeze capital works and infrastructure projects until Labor develops an infrastructure plan.

"Queenslanders are concerned about the impact on jobs. They didn't expect this to happen," he told AAP.
