Police officer 'kicked in head' north of Brisbane

Three men have been charged after three police officers were allegedly assaulted while trying to break up an argument at Sandstone Point, north of Brisbane.

One male senior constable was allegedly kicked in the head, another in the groin, and a third had his finger injured, the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.

They had been called to the hotel on Bribie Island Road early Saturday, where three men were allegedly obstructing paramedics in a hotel car park.

The three men were taken into custody before the officers sought treatment at the Caboolture Hospital.

One of the men, a 23-year-old from Morayfield, was charged with seriously assaulting police causing bodily harm, assaulting police, being a public nuisance and contravening a police direction.

He will appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on March 16.

His two co-accused from Godwin Beach, aged 21 and 38, were charged with seriously assaulting police, obstructing police and public nuisance.

They will appear in the same court on April 7.
