Gold Coast hoons caught on resident's CCTV

Residents say their Broadbeach street is quickly becoming the Gold Coast's most notorious speedway.

Last Tuesday night a hoon was caught on CCTV hurtling towards Steve Baxter's driveway on Pacific Boulevard.

Smoke from the exhaust trailed behind, flooding the street.

Mr Baxter believes he's being targeted.

"They keep on targeting me and they keep on laying rubber in the street, whether it might be taking the exhaust off their cars and racing down the road, anything to aggravate me," he told 9News.

"They think they are clever, but they are not that smart, just low-lifes."

His neighbours ran to the street expecting the worst, but the driver had taken off leaving skid marks more than 100 metres long.

Grahem Alstrand fears someone is going to get hurt.

"They're going to clean somebody up one day," he said. Five years ago, a hoon crashed straight into this home at the end of the street, narrowly missing a bedroom where a resident was sleeping.

Residents are calling on council and police to crackdown on the speedsters.
