Qld firefighter attacked while mowing lawn

A firefighter has been allegedly attacked while mowing a lawn outside a fire station.

The 47-year-old suffered various injuries, including fractured eye sockets, grazed knees and severe bruising and swelling to his head.

Police say three men attacked the firefighter at the station in the Rockhampton suburb of Parkhurst.

A 17-year-old man will face charges in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday of grievous bodily harm and assault with intent to steal.

Police are still investigating.
