Queensland MP cleared by ethics committee

Queensland Labor MP Jackie Trad has been cleared by parliament's Ethics Committee over allegations she deliberately failed to declare a conflict of interest.

Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie complained that Ms Trad didn't disclose that her husband is a partner in a company in the compensation industry when she voted on changes to WorkCover in October.

Ms Trad has apologised, saying she fully disclosed all her interests on her register, but was unaware she had to declare again during the vote.

The Ethics Committee on Thursday tabled a report into the matter.

It ruled that Ms Trad didn't have a pecuniary interest in the bill and wasn't required to declare the interest.

"There is no breach of privilege or contempt in this matter," the committee's chair Michael Crandon MP wrote in his report.
