Qld government ads appearing on porn site
Queensland government advertisements spruiking debt reduction are appearing on a pornography website.
A $6 million taxpayer-funded campaign has been running since mid-April arguing asset sales need to be considered in a bid to reduce the state's $80 billion debt.
But the "Strong Choices" message has appeared on a website featuring full-frontal nude images of male models.
Another advertisement appears on an anti-immigration web page.
The government ads are appearing on a range of WordPress open source blogging sites accessed on a smart phone.
They are part of a campaign asking Queenslanders if they would prefer higher taxes, reduced services or asset sales to reduce the state's debt.
Like major corporations, the state government puts ads on WordPress sites without directly knowing where they will appear.
Comment has been sought from the state government.
