Qld AMA pushes for more hospital doctors

The Queensland government must "bite the bullet" and hire more doctors to ease the long public hospital waiting lists, the Australian Medical Association says.
Queensland branch president Chris Zappala said waiting lists had not improved under the Labor government.
Dr Zappala said while 90 per cent of public hospital patients were seen within five months, 0.5 per cent were forced to wait more than one year for treatment.
