Defence company BAE Systems Australia has won a $200 million two-year contract extension to keep the RAAF's Hawk jet fighter trainers airborne.

As well, Raytheon Australia has won a $100 million contract extension to operate simulators for the RAAF's F/A-18 Hornets, Super Hornets and Growler combat aircraft.

Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne said these deals would support hundreds of jobs at the RAAF's base at Williamtown, outside Newcastle, in NSW.
