Public backs sole citizenship revoking

Voters are largely comfortable with an Australian involved in terrorism losing sole citizenship, as long as they can get citizenship from another nation.

A Fairfax-Ipsos poll has found 75 per cent of voters support the idea, with just 21 per cent opposed and four per cent undecided.

The government is canvassing opinion on the proposal through a public discussion paper, which comes in addition to draft laws to strip citizenship from dual nationals who take part in terrorism.
