Bus driver in hospital after projectile smashes through window hitting him in the head
A projectile has smashed through the window of a bus in Melbourne’s east, sending the driver to hospital with a head injury.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident which occurred in Mount Waverley, with emergency services called to the intersection of Solomon Street and Huntingdale Road about 3.20pm yesterday.
The driver, believed to be a man in his 60s, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

9News understands there was also a single passenger on-board the vehicle at the time of the incident who escaped unharmed.
The area was searched but at this stage no arrests have been made, however a manhunt for the person responsible is ongoing.
Armed crime squad detectives and ballistics experts were at the scene yesterday, working to determine whether the projectile may have been a bullet or another object.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have information.
