A professional photographer who allegedly swindled camera hire businesses out of almost $200,000 has been arrested and charged in Sydney’s west.

Mark Jones, the owner of Jonah Photography, is accused of hiring high-end camera equipment, then pawning the items and pocketing the cash for himself.

Police allege the wedding photographer has been behaving fraudulently across Queensland and New South Wales over the past two-year-period.

He was arrested yesterday at a Blacktown pawn shop and charged with nine counts of fraud.

Alleged victim Susan Gravina, who owns Brisbane Camera Hire, said Mr Jones swindled her out of $11,000.

“I lost $11,000 worth of equipment, but for me I’m just a small business, I’m a sole operator, and it was devastating,” she told 9NEWS.
