Private jet lands safely after vulture smashes through cockpit windscreen

The crew of a Brazilian private jet have managed to safely land the plane after a vulture smashed through the windscreen of the cockpit.

The small plane was taking off from Marechal Cunha Machado Airport in Sao Luis when the bird smashed through the right side of the windscreen, covering the cockpit, crew and passengers with blood and feathers.

Graphic video footage shot on-board by a passenger shows two other solemn-faced passengers with blood stains on their shirts and the co-pilot holding his head while air rushes into the plane.

The two pilots and two passengers on board received minor injuries from broken glass, RT.com reports.

Fortunately the jet was able to make a safe landing back at the same airport.
