Truck fire sends peak hour traffic into chaos

A large truck fire caused massive delays on the Princes Freeway this morning between Melbourne and Geelong.

Traffic was backed up for kilometres as authorities worked to clear the wreckage near the Little River Road exit.

All lanes have since reopened since the crash and traffic has begun to flow again.

It's not believed anyone has been injured.

The fire is believed to have started below the trailer as either a mechanical fault or because of friction.
